Effi Holston
Professional Overview
Effi Holston brings exceptional depth in open-source investigative research across Latin America and Eurasia, working fluently across Spanish- and Russian-language sources. Prior to RosettiStarr, she supported investigations into transnational organized crime and human trafficking at the U.S. Department of Justice, contributing to the 2024 indictment of Colombian human smugglers by Joint Task Force Alpha — one of the government's premier cross-agency efforts to combat transnational criminal networks. She also conducted research on irregular migration and displacement at the Institute for the Study of International Migration. Effi holds an M.A. in Eurasian, Russian, and East European Studies from Georgetown University's Walsh School of Foreign Service and a B.A. in Linguistic Anthropology, Hispanic Literatures and Cultures, and Classics from Brown University.
